During twenty-four hours, the enemy shelled 23 times from small arms, grenade launchers and 120/82-mm mortars. The attacks were, as follows: 2 attacks – Mayorsk, Leninske (Slovyansk direction); 13 attacks – Verkniotoretske, Avdiyivka, Opytne, Butovka mine, Maryinka (Donetsk direction); 8 attacks – Shyrokyne, Berdianske (Mariupol direction).

Other losses among the service men of the 1st (Donetsk) and 2nd (Luhansk) AC of the Russian Armed Forces, acting within sabotage and reconnaissance groups, were recorded:
On April 19, 2016, one service men of the 7th separate motorized rifle brigade (Debaltseve) of the 2nd AC died. Two service men were wounded – one from the 11th separate motorized rifle regiment (Makiyivka) and the other from the 9th separate assault motorized rifle regiment of the Marine Corps (Novoazovsk) of the 1st AC of the Russian Armed Forces.

The Ukrainian side informed the representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine about the presence of 122-mm MLRS "Hrad" and tanks in the areas of Debaltseve, Horlivka, Makiyivka, Donetsk and Olenivka.

In the view of the increasing number of Russian service men who refuse to participate in war crimes of the Russian authorities in Ukraine, the command of the Russian Armed Forces continue the active involvement of units, the personnel of which were recruited mainly from the peoples of the Northern Caucasus. On April 19, 2016, another Russian unit, manned mainly by the natives of Dahestan and Chechnia, arrived to the 9th separate assault motorized rifle regiment of the Marine Corps (Novoazovsk) of the 1st AC. It was managed to establish the personal data of one of the service man of this unit: Alibatyrov Islam Ramazanovych, born on 18.07.1985.

On the eve of the Victory Day, the command of the Russian Occupation Troops plan to intensify warfare with the purpose of propaganda – a demonstration of force and "significant achievements" in the creation of the so-called armed formations of the DNR. The variants of offensive hostilities in Donetsk direction, as well as seizure of the uncontrolled settlements in the so-called "grey area" in Mariupol direction are being considered.

To enhance the propaganda effect it is expected to arrange the events that will be visited by the representatives of the foreign pro-Russian movements and parties invited to participate in the May holidays in the temporarily occupied territories of the East of Ukraine.

The Russian Occupation Troops command pays particular attention to the celebration of the Victory Day.

In order not to disrupt the military parade and keep the crime situation in the places of celebrations under control, it was ordered to withhold the payment of allowance to the end of May.

In the view of absence of the elements of dress uniform, white linoleum was purchased urgently for the manufacture of parade belts, and instead of deficit male gloves, the service men received white female ones.

In order to massively involve local citizens, it is expected that food packages with basic "delicacy" – Chinese buckwheat and parade attributes (Russian flags, St. George ribbons, banners with portraits of former and current "leaders") will be handed out. The delivery of the supplies is scheduled from Russia for April 21, 2016, by another humanitarian convoy. The main condition for obtaining food packages is participation in the “crowd scene”.
