On the 9th of September, 2010, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Serbia V.Nedopas was present at the opening of the special exercises of the Sector for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia and Helicopter Division of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russian Federation.

The aim of the exercises was coordination of actions of Serbian and Russian fire divisions in forest fire extinguishment in terms of preparation to the creation of the Regional Center for Emergency Situations in Nis. Fire divisions of the Sector for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, 2 helicopters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia and 2 helicopters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russian Federation participated in the exercises.

The exercises have been watched by the ambassadors of Ukraine, Russia, Greece, Permanent Representative of the UN in Belgrade, as well as the representatives of the embassies of Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Romania and Montenegro.

Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Serbia answered to the questions of the journalists about the capacities and plans of Ukraine to take part in activities of the Regional Center for Emergency Situations in Nis.
