On the 30th of October, 2010, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Serbia V.Nedopas laid flowers to the monuments of soldiers of the Third Ukrainian Front who lost their lives during the Second World War in Sombor. The ceremony was organized by the Ukrainian Diaspora of Serbia. The Ukrainian Diaspora from Croatia also took part in the manifestation thus showing the unity of Ukrainians on the territory of former Yugoslavia and the importance of the victory of Ukrainian soldiers in Batin Battle for the future of both Serbia and Croatia.
The church service was prayed near the monument of soldiers of the Third Ukrainian Front. After that the participants lightened the candles on the graves of the fighters.
At the same day Ambasador of Ukraine Victor Nedopas and the Head of Cultural Community of Ukrainian Diaspora “Prosvita” M.Hochak threw the wreaths into the Danube waters in the city of Bezdan on Serbian-Croatian borders as a symbol of memory about the heroes of the Second World War not only in Serbia, but also in Ukraine where the Danube waters go.
