2016 is the year when Ukraine celebrates the 1001st anniversary of death of the great Prince of Kyivan Rus – Vladimir the Great. At the exhibition “Vladimir the Great who brought Christianity to the Kyivan Rus” you can see the interesting pictures and objects that illustrate the life, activity and the main developments reached by Vladimir during his rule in Kyivan Rus. Also you can compare the life if Ukrainians before and after Vladimir brought the Christianity to its territory.
The original exhibition includes about 250 of original objects from the funds of National Museum of Ukrainian History and the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The exhibition contains photography, maps, greeting cards, documents, pieces of art. In Serbia this part of exhibition is presented by photography (22 objects).
The second part of exhibition consists of the unique holograms which represent the golden, silver objects from the period before the Christianity in Kyivan Rus and after. The originals were kept in Desjatina church and further proceeded to the museum of Kievo-Pecherska Lavra.
Such a combination of pictures and holograms shows in the best way the comparing analysis of life in Kyivan Rus before and after Vladimir the Great bought the Christianity.
The exhibition is prepared and presented with the support of Serbian Orthodox Church.
It is symbolical that the exhibition dedicated to the great Ukrainian religious apostle Vladimir is presented in the church of the highest Serbian apostle – Saint Sava Church.
Ambassador of Ukraine Mr. Oleksandr Aleksandrovych and the high representatives of Serbian Orthodox Church will officially open the exhibition.
